REQUIREMENTS:
A basic R425 qualification, such as a nursing diploma or degree, or an equivalent qualification that permits registration as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), is required. an advanced degree in nursing that has been approved by SANC for a minimum of a year and is focused on the pertinent specialization (Intensive Care Nursing Science). enrollment as a professional nurse with SANC.
current Professional Nurse registration. A minimum of nine years of acceptable and recognizable nursing experience following registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing. After earning the one-year post-basic qualification in the relevant speciality, at least five years of the above-mentioned term must be appropriate/recognizable experience in the particular specialist.
An additional benefit will be nursing management and experience in paediatrics or child nursing science. Included must be service records. proficiency with computers. Exhibit a thorough awareness of nursing laws, as well as the ethical and legal implications for nursing practice, and how these affect the provision of care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ascertain that the nursing staff is practicing clinical nursing in conformity with the nursing standards and scope of practice established by the pertinent health facility. Encourage high-quality nursing care by the requirements set by the pertinent healthcare facility and the professional area of practice.
Effectively communicate with patients, managers, colleagues in the medical field, and subordinates. When necessary, write more involved reports.
Work together with individuals who have different intellectual, cultural, racial, or religious backgrounds as a member of a multidisciplinary team at the unit level to guarantee quality nursing care. Capable of overseeing own tasks, time, and those of less experienced colleagues to guarantee appropriate nursing care in the unit. Show consideration for the patients, encourage, support, and facilitate appropriate care and treatment, and make sure the unit follows Batho Pele’s tenets.
Capable of cultivating relationships and creating and sustaining a network of professional connections to improve service performance. Use a rudimentary understanding of computers as a support tool to improve the quality of services provided. Adopt nursing laws and the corresponding moral and legal standards for nursing practice. Create and evaluate reports to raise the standard of patient care. Effectively and efficiently manage the unit’s resources. Must be ready to relieve the supervisor when needed and work night shifts as necessary. Ability to project a professional image and work well in a team.
