Job Title: Food Service Assistant (with Cashiering & Cleaning Duties)

Main Purpose of the Position
To provide excellent food service support in a hospitality environment, including food preparation, cashiering, beverage restocking, and cleaning duties. This role is vital in ensuring high standards of hygiene, customer service, and food safety are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
🍽️ Food Service & Front-of-House Support

Assist with a variety of food production tasks and meal preparation.

Provide front and back-of-house support during meal service.

Deliver a world-class customer experience, ensuring clients and guests are served efficiently and courteously.
💰 Cashiering Duties

Accurately perform cash handling and POS transactions.

Monitor and restock beverages and supplies as needed.

Maintain cleanliness and order in the cashier area.
🧼 Cleaning & Housekeeping

Perform regular cleaning of assigned areas, including food prep stations, dining areas, and restrooms.

Follow health, hygiene, and safety standards in accordance with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations.

Assist with stocking, inspection, and documentation of maintenance or cleaning issues.
Education & Experience Requirements

Matric (Grade 12) – Essential

1+ year of relevant experience in food service, hospitality, cashiering, or cleaning – Essential
-
Experience in corporate cleaning or hospitality environments – Advantageous

Qualification in Culinary Arts or Food & Beverage Services – Advantageous
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

Basic knowledge of food preparation and cash handling

Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and safety protocols

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Passion for hygiene, cleanliness, and personal grooming

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

Takes initiative and works well in a team-based setting
