About the Role

We are currently looking for a dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced Courier Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery of goods and services to our valued clients. This position requires someone with a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and a passion for customer satisfaction.

As a Courier Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of packages, parcels, and various goods to specified destinations. You will ensure timely deliveries, maintain accurate records, and represent our company in a professional and courteous manner. Key Responsibilities

• Safely deliver packages to customers, retail stores, service centres, and designated drop-off points, ensuring the correct documentation and stock accompany each delivery.

• Load and unload delivery vehicles with care, ensuring that items are secured and handled properly to avoid damage.

• Accurately return undelivered stock or items due to failed deliveries or loading errors to the Service Centre.

• Accept full responsibility for the vehicle, its maintenance, the stock onboard, and any related delivery equipment.

• Comply with all road safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures at all times.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and roadworthy delivery vehicle.

• Interact professionally and courteously with customers, responding to delivery inquiries and resolving minor issues where possible.

• Maintain up-to-date delivery records, logs, and related documentation.

• Coordinate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and other drivers to optimize delivery routes and meet customer expectations.

• Report delays, accidents, or vehicle maintenance issues promptly to the relevant supervisor or fleet manager.

• Uphold the company’s values and commitment to ethical, responsible, and customer-focused service delivery.

Knowledge Required

• In-depth understanding of the products and services offered by PEPKOR Lifestyle.

• Strong knowledge of safe transportation principles and delivery best practices.

• Familiarity with record-keeping and logistics documentation.

• Awareness of distribution safety protocols and responsible care initiatives.

• Extensive geographical knowledge of delivery areas to optimize routing and minimize delays.

• Solid understanding of company policies, systems, and operational standards.

• Awareness of legal and ethical responsibilities associated with courier services.

• Efficient fleet utilization and ability to contribute to cost-effective delivery operations.

• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor repair troubleshooting.

• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

• High level of customer service orientation.

• Good judgment and problem-solving abilities during delivery challenges or unexpected route issues.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in stock handling and documentation.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without constant supervision.

• Comfortable using GPS systems and delivery tracking tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.

• Valid South African driver’s license (Code 8/10).

• Professional Driving Permit (PDP) – required and up to date.

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a courier or delivery driver in a similar environment.

• Clean driving record with no recent traffic violations.

Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous but not mandatory)

• Basic mechanical knowledge or prior fleet management exposure.

• Experience with delivery tracking systems and handheld logistics tools.

• Previous experience in a retail logistics or PEPKOR Lifestyle-related environment.

Working Conditions

• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays as needed.

• Must be comfortable with extended driving hours and working in all weather conditions.

• Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy packages.
