Overview
The SAYouth Teacher Assistant Programme is a six-month initiative designed to give unemployed young South Africans real-world experience in public schools. From 2 June to 30 November 2025, participants will work alongside professional educators, support classroom activities, and earn a monthly stipend, all while developing valuable skills for future careers.

Key Responsibilities
As a Teacher Assistant, you will:

Support Daily Lessons

Prepare teaching materials (handouts, visual aids, tech setups)

Help explain concepts during class and small-group sessions

Assist Learners Individually

Offer one-on-one attention to students needing extra help

Adapt activities for diverse learning needs (e.g., language support, reading practice)

Who Can Apply?
To be considered, you must:

Be a South African citizen between 18 and 34 years old (you must still be 34 on 1 March 2026).

Live within 5 km of an urban school or 30 km of a rural/farm school.

Be unemployed and not enrolled in any other formal study or training programme.
-
Have a bank account in your name for stipend payment.

Hold a valid South African ID or permit (a police clearance may be requested later).

Submit by the Deadline
Ensure you send your application before 9 May 2025 at 23:59. Late or incomplete entries will not be considered.
Note: The application process is completely free. Do not visit schools in person to apply—everything is handled online.
