Food Science Technical Service Intern – Eastern Region Accounts
About the job
Ingredion is seeking a Summer Intern to assist our Eastern Region Accounts team in developing new products and developing solutions that are valuable to our customers in the US and Canada. Using Good Manufacturing Practices, the Summer Intern will be in charge of creating/preparing food formulations and prototypes for a range of customer and company projects on a pilot plant and lab benchtop scale.
As required or allocated, they will carry out tasks linked to research, support requests from both internal and external customers, carry out analytical testing, and, under management’s direction, document and compile technical reports.
As The Technical Service Intern, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Overseeing work projects to adhere to deadlines and specifications
evaluating and comprehending information, findings, and scholarly works in order to progress initiatives - preserving a tidy and secure workplace. Observe established protocols for safeserv, GMPs, safe housekeeping, and safety.
- cooperating with members of the Technical Service team and other internal colleagues to achieve the desired results
- presenting the team and important stakeholders with prototypes, project status, updates, and results
- Creating technical reports and presentations
- Innovative, driven, and very enthusiastic about the work with a strong interest in food science and a natural curiosity
- Possess ambition, the ability to prioritize, organization, attention to detail, and proficiency with time management and deadlines
- are cooperative and able to collaborate successfully with others
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) proficiency
- A minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 is preferred as you work toward a bachelor’s degree in food science, food or chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Must have completed at least two years of study with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
- the capacity to put in 40 hours a week during the summer internship
- Possessing practical experience developing food concepts using technology in a lab or pilot plant is advantageous.
- It is preferred to have knowledge of standard food procedures, food ingredient functionality, and food ingredient interactions.
