Purpose of the Position
The Department of Transport is seeking reliable, diligent, and honest individuals to fill Cleaner positions at various Road Traffic Inspectorate centers. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in offices and facilities, and for providing refreshment services where required.
Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification:
-
Minimum of AET Level 4 or Grade 9 (formerly Standard 7).

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Required:
-
Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and equipment usage.
-
Familiarity with refreshment preparation and serving.
-
Awareness of health and safety standards relevant to cleaning duties.
-
Ability to operate domestic and cleaning appliances (e.g., vacuum cleaners, mops, polishers).
-
Good literacy and numeracy skills for following instructions and schedules.
-
Capable of performing routine cleaning tasks efficiently.
-
Attributes: Must be reliable, responsible, polite, receptive to feedback, and demonstrate integrity and honesty.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
-
General Cleaning Tasks:
-
Vacuuming and sweeping of offices and common areas.
-
Mopping floors and polishing surfaces.
-
Dusting and wiping down walls, surfaces, furniture, and fixtures.
-
Emptying and cleaning rubbish bins and waste containers.
-

Toilet and Sanitation Maintenance:
-
Thorough cleaning of toilets and restrooms.
-
Replenishing toilet supplies as needed.
-

Conference and Meeting Room Maintenance:
-
Preparing and serving refreshments (tea/coffee).
-
Washing and tidying up utensils and crockery after tea breaks.
-

Other Duties:
-
Cleaning of windows, glass doors, and lecture room blocks.

Ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
