Purpose of the Role
The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development is seeking to appoint a Food Service Aid at the National Office in Pretoria. This position plays a key role in supporting catering services within the department, ensuring smooth operations in serving refreshments during meetings and maintaining kitchen hygiene. The ideal candidate should be service-driven, organized, and able to perform duties with a high level of attention to detail.

Educational Qualification:

Minimum of ABET Level 4 or Grade 10 qualification.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Food Service Aid, your responsibilities will include:

Catering Support Services:
-
Assist with the preparation and delivery of food and beverages for departmental meetings and events.

Ensure timely serving of meals, snacks, and refreshments to staff and guests.

Service Delivery:
-
Set up tables and trays for meetings and events.
-
Serve refreshments in a professional and courteous manner.
-

Cleaning and Maintenance:
-
Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and crockery before and after use.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas.

Conference Room Preparation:
-
Prepare meeting rooms, including arranging cutlery, crockery, and table settings.

Ensure the conference facility is clean and presentable before and after meetings.

Stock Monitoring and Reporting:
-
Monitor supplies of food, beverages, and kitchen consumables.

Report any shortages, wastage, or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
