SALARY :

Grade 1: R359 622 per annum
Grade 2: R420 015 per annum
Other Benefits: 13th Cheque/service bonus, plus 12% Rural allowance, Home
owners Allowance. (Employee must meet prescribed requirements) (Medical

JOB LOCATION: Osindisweni District Hospital

REQUIREMENTS :

Diploma or equivalent for grade 12. A dietetics diploma or degree, or a similar credential, enables one to register as a dietitian with HPCSA. Grade 1: After registering as a dietitian with HPCSA, no experience. Grade 2: Having registered as a dietitian with HPCSA, at least ten (10) years of relevant experience is required.

Human Resources has approved and sealed both prior and current experience (certificate of service). Note: Only those who have been shortlisted will need to bring certified copies of their records to the interview on the day of the interview. Competencies, Training, Knowledge, and Skills Essential: Good communication abilities, both written and verbal. strong interpersonal abilities.

familiarity with departmental administrative duties. awareness of the code of ethics and the range of activity. the capacity to solve difficulties and use analytical procedures when providing medical treatment. supervisory abilities with students and junior employees. abilities in performance management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform all dietetics responsibilities, roles, and obligations to the best of your ability and in compliance with all applicable laws. In accordance with patient demands, oversee and deliver excellent, therapeutic, and motivating nutrition services. Provide professional, reliable information regarding institutional services as well as qualified healthcare advice. Provide patients and medical professionals a consultation dietetics service. To ensure that the nutrition services meet the appropriate benchmarks and metrics, keep an eye on and assess them.

Put quality assurance programs into action to provide overall efficient services. Create procedures to make sure the diets follow guidelines. Provide suggestions for methods and policies that will ensure the dietetics unit runs well. Serve as a consultant for patient treatment and recovery initiatives. Give knowledgeable guidance on the nutritional value of the food goods you want to buy.

Determine a policy relating to the development, provision and maintenance of
comprehensive nutrition standards. Ensure an effective nutrition care yet up to
standard nutrition service. Exercise control over rood products to minimize
wastage. Ensure effective nutrition care is delivered to patients within the
hospital & out-patients. To be able to provide an after-hour service within the
available resources whenever it’s required to do so. Fulfil Monitoring &
Evaluation duties of the section.
