JOB LOCATION: Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme Memorial Hospital

REQUIREMENTS:

A degree or diploma in operating theatre nursing science is a post-basic qualification. SANC-accredited post-basic registration certificate in the pertinent speciality of operating room nursing science. General Nursing and Midwifery is the registration certificate held with SANC. Currently registered as a professional nurse and midwife with SANC.

nine years minimum of relevant recognized nursing experience following registration with SANC as a professional nurse in general nursing. After earning the one-year post-basic qualification in Operating Theatre nursing science, at least five of the aforementioned period’s years must have been relevant or identifiable experience in the Operating Theatre Nursing Unit.

The Human Resource Department will need verification of both past and present job experience from shortlisted individuals. Those chosen for the position will need to serve for at least a year.

Training in Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Essential:

familiarity with the protocols and practices of nursing care. knowledge of other pertinent legal frameworks, including nursing statutes. coordination, networking, and operational management abilities. strong report-writing and communication abilities, both written and verbal. aptitude for making decisions and addressing issues. Negotiation and conflict resolution abilities. Financial and people management abilities. abilities in project management. fundamental computer abilities.

DUTIES:

In a speciality unit, patients and clients complete, high-quality nursing care economically and effectively. aid in the organization, planning, and tracking of the specialized unit’s goals. To guarantee the best possible service delivery, effectively and efficiently manage every resource in the unit. Capable of organizing and planning own tasks as well as those of support staff to guarantee appropriate nursing care.

Show patients that you care about them by supporting and arguing for appropriate care and treatment, as well as by being aware of and prepared to meet their needs, demands, and expectations (Batho Pele). Participate in the interdisciplinary team to guarantee high-quality nursing care. Effectively communicate with patients, managers, and other healthcare professionals. When necessary, prepare reports.

To provide safe patient care and raise customer satisfaction, make sure all national, provincial, and professional regulations are followed. Take part in the process of analyzing and developing nursing policies and practices. Participate in tracking the staff’s training needs and support the EPMDS evaluation of the unit’s personnel. Provide direction and both direct and indirect supervision to every employee in the unit.

Place the right number of consumable orders and keep an eye on usage. Ascertain if the unit’s equipment is sufficient, inspected, and operating. Establish a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment. At the supervisory level, collaborate productively and cordially with individuals who have different intellectual, cultural, racial, or religious backgrounds. Show that you are aware of the policies and procedures about financial management and human resources.

Keep an eye on and assess each patient’s treatment and management, and make sure that all patient records are kept up to date and accurate. coordination of departmental projects and requirements under the Ideal Hospital Framework.
