Position Purpose
To safely convey cargo using a forklift or tractor-trailer to ensure a continuous flow of operations.
Position Outputs
-
Perform daily pre-start checks on allocated machinery to ensure operational integrity.

Complete daily task sheets and record/report equipment defects to the supervisor.

Operate assigned equipment according to standard operating procedures and monitor performance.

Report all accidents or incidents occurring during duties.
-
Ensure the correct use of equipment and attachments; change equipment as required for different commodities.

Perform end-of-shift tasks as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
Option 1:
-
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
-
Valid driver’s licence
-
Certificate of competence for forklift and/or tractor
-
Minimum 1-year relevant forklift driving experience
OR
Option 2:

Grade 10 (NQF Level 2)
-
Valid driver’s licence
-
Certificate of competence for forklift and/or tractor

Minimum 3 years relevant experience

Basic literacy (read and write)

Demonstrated basic numeracy and literacy

Demonstrated potential to perform in the role
