DRIVER (HEAVY DUTY VEHICLE)

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirement for this position includes basic literacy and numeracy skills. It is essential for candidates to possess a valid code C1 (Code 10) manual driver’s licence and a valid Public Driving Permit (PDP). The role necessitates a willingness to work overtime, perform standby duties after hours, and be available on weekends and public holidays. Desired competencies include accountability, the ability to work independently, strong interpersonal skills, and maintaining sober habits. Familiarity with Transport Regulations and Circular no 4 of 2000 is advantageous. Additionally, proficiency in routine vehicle maintenance, defect inspections, and safe driving practices is required. Candidates should also demonstrate the capability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or special mental healthcare needs.
DUTIES:
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure an efficient and effective transport service for Lentegeur Hospital, encompassing the transportation of clients, personnel, goods, and services. Duties include conducting routine maintenance checks on vehicles, promptly reporting defects, and ensuring vehicles are in a clean and roadworthy condition. The incumbent will oversee daily transport administration and provide support to the Supervisor as required. Additionally, they will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of blood and specimen samples.
