The leading actuarial advisory firm in South Africa is Deloitte’s Actuarial & Insurance Solutions (AIS) division, which has extensive experience in both the insurance and financial services sectors. With over 140 actuarial staff members and over 50 trained actuaries, we are the largest actuarial consultancy in Africa. For life and non-life insurers and reinsurers, regulators, automakers, retirement fund providers, and other associated organizations, our AIS practice offers full actuarial, risk management, and advanced analytics services.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Manager for our office in Johannesburg. to assist the Leadership Team in carrying out assigned engagements and projects at client locations by providing services. Our clients’ needs will be the primary focus of our development and provision of IFRS17-based solutions.
- Capital modelling and reserve for IFRS 17, Solvency II, and other regulatory projects
- large-scale initiatives to improve the reporting, actuarial, and financial processes of insurers
- Specialists in actuarial work on a variety of insurers’ external audits.
- Support and due diligence for various corporate transactions involving insurers
- Work on validating models
Qualifications
- Degree in Actuarial Science (honours advantageous)
- Nearly qualified or qualified actuary
Experience:
- Four to six years minimum of work experience
- the majority of professional experience in the field of life insurance actuarial, ideally with a variety of life insurance products
- Strong background in actuarial valuation It will be helpful if you have
- a strong background in capital and solvency calculations, reinsurance, and reservations.
- Having particular knowledge of IFRS17 will be beneficial.
- a track record of overseeing and managing the work of junior team members
